This game will not be close and Alabama will not loss. Let’s get one thing straight, Jalen Hurts is better than Baker Mayfield. A Duel-Threat QB is better than a pocket passer. I don’t know who got it in their head that pocket passing is so great that QBs shouldn’t run, but Tim Tebow sure changed that and I’m glad he did. Tim Tebow kept defenses guessing and so does Jalen Hurts and the same with Tua Tagovailoa, Lamar Jackson, and Robert Griffin III. Those are great players, great athletes, great Quarterbacks. I’m not saying that all pocket passers are bad, some are amazing like A.J. McCarron, but some of them are studied by the defenses and then can be predicted, causing a mediocre performance. People like Jalen Hurts can’t be predicted. It’s hard to guess what a Dual-Threat Quarterback’s going to do. With Mayfield, once you know that the ball’s not in the Running Back’s arms, you can be at least 90% sure that it’s a pass. If a defense like Alabama knows it’s a pass, oh man, your doomed. What happened with Jake Coker and Alabama was that while he was alright, the team was mainly carried by Derrick Henry. When, not if, the Alabama defense figures Mayfield out, they need to depend on a good run game and I’m not too certain about that Running Back. I haven’t seen much of him.
But I’ll put it like this, that Running Back had better be good or it’s over.
