Where’s the Defense? Alabama Allows 23 Points And It’s Saban’s Fault, Maybe Alabama Should Learn to Play Special Teams, And Many More Flaws From Alabama.

Nick Saban told the media to point out Alabama’s faults so, combining Punter Skyler Delong’s average of 36-yards per punt with the fact that Alabama’s defensive line was horrible last game, this should be fairly easy even though they won 45-23.

Here are the many flaws of Alabama

I. First of all, if Saban were to coach the entire season like this, it would be a miracle if Alabama were to win 8 games. Saban loves to blame all his players for everything, but this game was completely his and the other coaches fault (except for the punting problems). If Alabama’s plans on having a respectable season, Saban has to start calling the correct plays.

II. Want to know another flaw? It’s called the lack of respect that Saban shows to Jalen Hurts. Nick Saban is wasting Hurts’ eligibility by not letting him play meaningful snaps. Coach Saban is showing zero respect to Jalen, who is 26-2 as a starter. Maybe I’m judging Saban too quickly. I don’t know. I just know that, so far, Hurts has seen very limited action.

III. The defense looked confused throughout the game. Let’s face it, this game was horribly coached. That doesn’t excuse the players for playing as lousy as they did. I’m just saying that the coaches didn’t help anything. They gave up a couple of long runs by Texas A&M QB Kellen Mond and allowed a touchdown by leaving a receiver wide open in the endzone. Also, the drive that ended with a touchdown because they left a receiver open in the endzone was an 8 play, 99-yard drive.

IV. One day, Skyler Delong is going to need to learn how to punt. Despite the fact that he finally got a 50-yard+ punt, he still averaged only 36-yards per punt.

V. Bama never got much of anywhere running the football. They averaged only 3.9 yards per carry which is much worse than what a team like Alabama should averaging. Also, they only scored 2 touchdowns on the ground.

VI. Jalen Hurts fumbled the football. Fortunately, Alabama Running Back Najee Harris recovered the football.

VII. Alabama needed to punt the football as many times as they scored touchdowns. If they want to win against teams like LSU or Auburn, they’re going to need to do less punting and more scoring.

Well, Nick Saban asked for criticism and he got criticism. Saban is a great coach, but he isn’t perfect and I was just pointing out some of his, his assistant coach’s, and his team’s many flaws, plus the fact that I don’t understand what he’s doing with Jalen Hurts.
