After the first quarter the Spurs were leading against a turnover filled Warriors 16-30. After the second quarter the Spurs lead 42-62. Golden State’s rally in the second half gave the Warriors game 1. Stephen Curry scored 40 points ($) as well as 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Kevin Durant had 34 points and Dremond Green had 7 assists (:). Kawhi Lenard, the Spurs best player went down injured and did not return, at the time the Spurs led by 23. Later in the third Curry scored a long 3-pointer in a run in which Golden State scored 21 and the Spurs scored 4. Curry racked up 19 points in the third quarter. In the fourth Kevin Durant Nailed down a 3-pointer to make the Warriors only down by 3 (93-96). Later in the fourth quarter Kevin Durant made a layup to make the Warriors lead 101-100 on his 34th and last point of the game. At 2:27 the Spurs made a jump shot to put them back up by 1 (102-103). The Spurs lead 103-106 with less than 2 minutes, Curry attempted a three and missed, Stephen Curry rebounded and passed it to Durant who attempted a three and missed, on the third try Curry attempted a three, this time it went in tying the game at 106. With less then 1:20 Klay Thompson passed the ball to Dremond Green, Green made a layup to lead 108-106 with 1:15 left. With 10 seconds left Curry made a 2-pointer jump shot to make the game 113-110. With 0.5 seconds left, the Warriors were called for a foul. The Spurs made the first free throw and purposely missed the second trying to get a tip in to tie. The Spurs were unable to get the tip in, thus making the Warriors win for the ninth time in nine playoff games. Here’s what we learned:
