Tua Tagovailoa Deserved the Heisman Trophy And It’s That Simple.

Tua Tagovailoa was robbed of the Heisman Trophy after having a season that’s hard to match. Other Heismans didn’t match up close to him and neither did Kyler Murray, the Heisman Trophy winner. Murray had a good year, but Tua was better. Let’s start with the fact that Tagovailoa hasn’t lost a game this season. Sure, if it weren’t for Jalen Hurts Alabama probably wouldn’t have beaten Georgia, however, Tagovailoa was injured and still didn’t end up with horrible statistics. Tua Tagovailoa has also played against better defenses. Tagovailoa played very well against LSU’s defense, one of the best defenses in the country. While Kyler Murray hasn’t really had a bad game, almost all his opponents were from the Big 12, and we all know how inferior Big 12 defenses are compared to the rest of the Power 5 Conferences. Also, Tua Tagovailoa usually played about 3 quarters each game and still scored 42-touchdowns. Meanwhile, Kyler Murray had much more playing time and only scored 9 more touchdowns.

Kyler Murray is a good player and everybody knows that. So don’t think that I don’t like him, plus the fact that I agree with him when he said that college players should get paid (that’s a topic which I may cover later in a different article). I just think that Tua is a better player and leader and deserved to win it.
