The NCAAF Ultimate Quarterback Debate: Jalen Hurts vs Cam Newton vs Tua Tagovailoa vs Tim Tebow vs Other Great QBs.

Writer I: Out of these Quarterbacks, I’m going to have to go with Jalen Hurts. Sounds weird, huh? Well it isn’t. Hurts is just plain great and I can’t believe a lot of people don’t see that. I’ve watched tons of Hurts highlight videos, every highlight video of him I can find, and it never gets old. Jalen Hurts is just a fun player to watch. After watching his highlights over and over I can almost guarantee that he is one of the greatest athletes ever. He’s the only guy I know who can tear throw defenses for long running touchdowns without being touched. Jalen Hurts throws like a Top 10 All-Time Quarterback. Sometimes he throws to powerfully but otherwise Hurts is flawless in the passing game. I considered Cam Newton only because he can flip over defenders. Tim Tebow and Tua Tagovailoa are great, but I think that Jalen can run and throw a little better than Tebow and I think that Jalen Hurts has a little bit of an edge against Tua being that Hurts led Alabama to the championship. I haven’t seen a lot of highlights or games where Tagovailoa plays most of the game (except for the CFP Championship Game). While Tua did win the CFP Championship for Alabama, I haven’t seen enough of Tua to compare him with Jalen Hurts. So, being that I’ve seen a lot of Hurts, I think I should go with Jalen Hurts.

Writer II: Jalen Hurst is indeed a good athlete, team leader, and all around player. However Tim Tebow is clearly the best of the quarterbacks you listed. Tebow, a two time BCS National Champion and Heisman Trophy winner, has proven that he has great passing ability as well as spectacular running skills. I’m not sure how you can say Jalen Hurts runs better than Tebow. Hurts runs for most of his yards because of his speed and the Alabama offensive line. Hurts cannot bypass defenders the way Tebow can. Jalen Hurts relies on blocking, while Tebow runs straight through the middle of the field and pounds into defenders. Tebow is the more physical than Hurts. He also has better passing skills. Tebow is also better than Cam Newton and Tua Tagovailo. If the Florida Gators from 2009 played the Alabama Crimson Tide of 2017, I think it would be a very exciting. I think Tebow would win the game.

I would like too take a moment to say that Jake From is also an extremely good quarterback. Also, you did not list AJ McCarron, who is most likely the best player in Alabama Crimson Tide history.

Writer I: Dearest friend Writer II, do realize what you just said? Of course Jalen Hurts relies on his speed. When you’re running, who doesn’t? The fact that Jalen Hurts is at least 30 pounds smaller than Tebow means that he has to rely on speed rather than crashing into the first person he sees. While Hurts does fight through defenders for extra yards, sometimes it’s easier to go untouched to the endzone instead of nearly killing yourself by throwing yourself at a defender. While Tim Tebow is fast and physical I still think Jalen Hurts is better. And yes, A.J. McCarron was one of the best Quarterbacks in Alabama history.
