Joe Burrow Named LSU Starting Quarterback

The LSU Tigers have announced that QB Joe Burrow will start week 1 against Miami. Joe Burrow transferred out of Ohio State this off-season. Although Burrow could have chosen to go to another school where he would have been named the starting quarterback immediately, he chose to go to LSU so he could compete at the highest level in college football. When Burrow announced his transfer to LSU, the Tigers already had three quarterbacks, Myles Brennan, Lowell Narcisse, and Justin McMillan competing for the starting job. About a week and a half ago two of the quarterbacks, Narcisse and McMillan, transferred out of LSU leaving only Burrow and Brennan to compete to be named the starting quarterback. Although reports had been saying that Burrow was playing really well in practice and would likely be named the starter, LSU Head Coach Ed Orgeron had said a couple of days ago that the QB competition was really close. Joe Burrow will start for LSU in their season opener against Miami on Sunday Night at 6:30.
