#1 Alabama at Ole Miss: 66-9
Ok, maybe that’s rat poison, but seriously, Ole Miss isn’t a great team. Last year, Alabama beat them 66-3. Also, Ole Miss allowed 41 points to an FCS team last game. I gave Ole Miss 9 only because I think their offense might be half decent. By the way, just because I think Alabama will win big time doesn’t mean I think Alabama will play flawlessly. Of course not, Alabama is a very mistake prone team. Alabama already has over 140-yards in penalties in only 2 games. Unless Alabama corrects these problems, they’re not going to the playoffs. The Tide are very undisciplined this year, at least on defense and special teams. The sloppy things they did in the first game were missing an extra point and an easy field goal, getting unsportsmanlike conduct after scoring a kick return touchdown, and getting an unsportsmanlike conduct when Louisville was at 4th down which lead to Louisville scoring their first touchdown. Against Arkansas State in week 2 Alabama missed 2 extra points and none of their punts went very far.
Ole Miss has possibly the worst defense in the SEC. Come on, 41 points allowed against an FCS team? That’s ridiculous. I get that they also scored 2 touchdowns, a fumble returned for a touchdown and a pick-six, but that still bothers me when a think about that game. Ole Miss is a complete digrace to the SEC. SEC has a history of having the best defenses ever and to allow 41 points against an FCS team is shameful. Southern Illinois, the FCS team that Ole Miss beat, scored only 8 more points against Murray State. Murray State lost that game 49-10. Murray State isn’t a good team at all and yet their defense is almost as good as Ole Miss. Ole Miss’s defense is the biggest digrace to the Power 5 conferences and I think that I’m humbling Alabama to say that they won’t make the 70s.
If Southern Illinois knows how to score 41 points against Ole Miss, then how hard do you think it will be for Alabama to score 60.
