Alabama pulled off a shocking victory vs the 10th best team in the country at home. Alabama pitcher Medders stroke out all 3 batters in the top of the 9th to win 4-2. Alabama almost scored another run in the 8th inning on double where the man at second attempted to go to home but was tagged by the catcher.
My MVP for this game is Cobie Vance. Vance racked up 2 hits, an RBI and a run. Cobie Vance hit a single off of a pitch by Sean Hjelle, who is 6’11, and Sam Praytor scored from third (Cobie Vance is 5’8) to make the game 4-2. Vance scored in the bottom of the third inning to make the game 3-1 on a ground out by Chandler Avant.
Alabama will play Kentucky tomorrow at 2 p.m. All games in this series are played in Tuscaloosa.
The Alabama Crimson Tide, before this game, had a 7-game losing streak. Alabama’s record is 17-10. This might be considered a decent record. However, they got off to a 9-0 start and then before their losing streak they were 16-3. Therefore, I think it’s safe to say that before this game the Tide were on a pretty bad slump.
Alabama has a hard schedule coming up. They need to play Kentucky again tomorrow and on Easter. Alabama’s next series in order are:
At the 19-7 Missouri (Starts April 6th and ends April 8th).
At the 20-8 Texas A&M (Starts April 12th and ends April 14th).
Vs the 22-5 Auburn (Starts April 20th and ends April 22nd). Alabama lost to Auburn 5-2 the previous game (The final game of the 7-game losing streak).
